Easy, Fast, and Stress-free.
When a family member passes away or moves into assisted living, the house or apartment along with the basement and other storage areas now need to be cleared. But what if relatives don't live nearby, don't have time for the clearance, or can't muster the strength due to the emotional burden being simply too great? That's when clearance professionals are needed, who expertly handle household clearances.
From Inspection to Handover
When you inquire about an estate clearance, our service begins with a comprehensive and free inspection of all the premises. This initial step is crucial for our team as it helps us better assess the premises and conditions on-site. This benefits you as well, as only through this process can a fair and transparent estimate of all costs be made. During the inspection, we can also gauge the time required and provide you with a non-binding offer based on that. Typically, we agree on a fixed price.
Over the course of a lifetime, many things accumulate. Some possessions may not seem valuable at first glance. However, such items often find enthusiasts and collectors. Well-maintained antiques, paintings, coin collections, stamp collections, jewelry, or complete porcelain sets should be appraised and marketed by an expert. If our clearance experts cannot estimate the value of an item, we have the opportunity to tap into our extensive network to consult a specialist in the respective field and obtain an expert opinion. This way, we also ensure, in the interest of our customers, that, for example, a collection is not discarded. If we find valuable items during the inspection or clearance, they will be assessed for their worth and factored into the estimate for the estate clearance. The total value will then be deducted from the clearance costs. Thanks to this value deduction, an estate clearance is often considerably cheaper for our customers compared to competitors. Items that should not be sold or disposed of should be removed or visibly marked before the inspection.
Tips for a Smooth Estate Clearance
Once all details regarding the estate clearance have been thoroughly discussed and planned with us, you do not need to be present in person on the day of the clearance. In most cases, this is also more sensible. Even if Grandpa's favorite armchair is worthless, it often holds many memories. Seeing the armchair on a trash heap or in a dumpster can be painful and evoke strong emotions. Remaining on-site throughout the process unnecessarily burdens you emotionally.
If you agree with our proposed price, we will then schedule a date for the clearance. On the day of the clearance, we will dispose of everything properly and responsibly, recycling as many items as possible. Once all rooms, including the basement and storage areas, are cleared and empty, we will hand over the property to you either broom-clean or (if requested) completely cleaned.
